Thanks for visiting the website! It has been very exciting to create a home on the Internet to keep professionals, clients, and the public up to date on my services, seminars, and publications. Nina has been hired by a FOURTH school district to provide fluency specialist duties to SLPs and children: McKinney ISD. This is in addition to her positions at Frisco ISD, Garland ISD, and her quarterly consultation in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD. Read more information about consultation services.

Upcoming Seminars:

TETN Series at Region 11 ESC, Fort Worth, TX: This full series of seminars will be broadcast to several subscribed Educational Service Centers and district sites throughout the state of Texas.

December 3, 2009; Region 12 ESC, Waco, TX: Another TETN presentation for several districts and ESCs in Texas, Nina will present a full day workshop on School-age Stuttering Therapy.

February 12-13, 2010; Illinois Speech and Hearing Association annual conference at the Rosemont Convention Center, Rosemont, IL: Nina is a featured speaker and will be presenting two workshops: "School Age Stuttering Therapy, Where do we start?" and “What About Us? Counseling parents, teachers and others in stuttering therapy"

March 5-7, 2010; Ohio Speech-Language-Hearing Association in Columbus, OH: Nina will be a featured speaker, presenting two workshops: "Framing the 'Big Picture' of School Age Stuttering Therapy", and “School Age Stuttering Therapy, Let’s talk tools!”

May 21 , 2010; Region 6 Huntsville, TX: Nina is thrilled to return to Huntsville to present full day presentation regarding Early Childhood Stuttering Therapy.

November 18-21, 2009; ASHA National Convention in New Orleans, LA:

  • Wednesday, November 18, 2009; 1:00-5:30 pm, Room 183B: Nina has been invited to co-present a short-course for AHSA’s Division 4, Fluency and Fluency Disorders pre-convention workshop. She will be joining with long-time friend and co-author, Scott Yaruss, to present "Individualized Assessment for School-age Children who stutter: moving from evaluation to treatment." Space is limited for this presentation!
  • Friday, November 20, 2009; 9:30-10:30 am, Room 354: Nina joins a panel of researchers and clinicians in stuttering to present session #1926 entitled "Creating Effective and Efficient Research Teams"
  • Saturday, November 21, 2010; 9:30-10:30 am, Room 245: Nina teams up with colleague Nancy Ribbler (Broward County Schools, Florida) to present session #2210 entitled “Stuttering Therapy: Innovative Solutions for Public Schools" ASHA Attendees: Now you can download the Sample “Stuttering Kit” that Nina spoke about during this session. November 6-7, 2009; Fluency Friday Plus! in Cincinnati, Ohio: Once again, Nina will be attending this wonderful intensive program for children who stutter and their families. Nina will present workshops for both parents children.

October 16-17, 2009; Fullerton Fluency Conference: Nina will be co-presenting a two day conference at the Center for Children who Stutter at Cal State Fullerton.

October 3, 2009; National Stuttering Association: Buffalo Chapter Regional Conference for adults who stutter and CEU event.

April 1-2, 2009; Texas Speech and Hearing Association Convention:
"Hot Topics in Stuttering: Dealing with Teasing and Bullying" and "Stuttering: A Dual Perspective" (co-presented with Lee Reeves, DVM - husband and person who stutters)

January 17, 2009; Tampa, FL: School Age Stuttering Therapy (co-sponsored by the National Stuttering Association) Also January 18, 2009:  Youth Day for children who stutter and their families 

November 22, 2008; ASHA National Convention in Chicago, IL: Current Treatment Strategies for Preschool Children Who Stutter

October 1 - 31, 2008: International Stuttering Awareness Day Online Conference (ISAD 2008). Nina has a paper regarding Fluency Specialization in the Schools on the ISAD conference.  It is co-authored by Dr. Charles Van Riper and Dr. Carl Dell.

Speechpathology.com CEU seminar: Nina and Dr. Kathleen Whitmire have co-authored an online course on the subject of eligibility and writing IEPs for school age stuttering therapy.
